Privacy Policy

Consensus AI (“we”, “us”) provides a service at useconsensus.ai that sends your question to several AI models and synthesizes their answers. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at support@useconsensus.ai.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your name, email address, and a hashed form of your password when you create an account. We never store your password in plain text.
- Conversation content. The prompts you send, the model responses you receive, and your chat history, so the service can show past conversations back to you.
- Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We store your subscription plan and status; your full card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Usage records. Which models you used and how much, so we can meter plan allowances and account balances.
- Technical data. Essential session cookies that keep you signed in, and standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) used for security and troubleshooting.
How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the service.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To send transactional email such as account verification, password reset, and billing notices.
- To respond to support requests.
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your conversations to train our own or anyone else’s AI models.
How your prompts reach AI models
When you send a message, we route it through OpenRouter to the AI model providers you selected. We send these requests with provider data collection disabled, which restricts routing to providers that agree not to retain or train on your prompts. Your account identity is shared with the routing provider only in hashed form.
Service providers
We share data with a small set of processors only as needed to run the service: Stripe (payments), OpenRouter (AI model routing), our email delivery provider (transactional email), and our cloud hosting providers (infrastructure and databases). Each receives only what it needs for its role.
Cookies
We use essential cookies only — the session cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your account data and conversation history while your account is active. You can delete individual chats at any time from the app. To delete your account and associated personal data, email support@useconsensus.ai from your registered address; we honor deletion requests within 30 days. Some billing records may be retained where required for tax and accounting obligations.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@useconsensus.ai.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed credentials, and access controls that limit who and what can read it. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by law.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be announced by email or in the app.
